NEW COLLAB ALERT (donSMITH & Leeky Bandz)

Peace Y’all!

I just got back from vacation (more on that later), and I wanted to share this new collab with y’all: the new track “Woke Up Hungry” by the homie donSMITH, Leeky Bandz and myself, produced by my brother RanVanDam!

Last time, I worked with donSMITH, I was in the producer seat. But this time, I provided the scratches in the hook (that’s right, I’m a DJ too)! This came about a few months ago when donSMITH hit me up asking if I could laid down some scratches for this song. Early in 2022, I showed him an unreleased collab with Jaden Castro in which I provided scratches, and he mentioned that he would be in touch whenever he wanted someone to spin on one of his tracks. Fast forward to October 2022, he hits me up a few days before he had to send the track to mastering to see if I could still hop on the track. I had recently let the homie RanVanDam borrow my DDJ controller for some tour dates, so I ended up using my bro Nothing_Neue’s DDJ to record. And because I’m a bit of an overachiever, I ended up recording about 20 minutes of scratches (I like to give people options). Initially, donSMITH just asked me to cut up the phrase “I woke up hungry”, but I ended up doing other parts of the acapella just to provide some variety.
