The New Era of Wrex Mason

Happy Black Music Month & Juneteenth Weekend! I finally bucked up & made myself a website (shouts to @BigSto)! From here on out, everything Wrex Mason is going to run through this website. Whether it’s new music, new merch, new videos, new streams… whatever it may be, wrexmason.com is where you’re gonna hear about it first. Below, I’m going to layout my plan for all aforementioned content for the latter half of 2022 and beyond!
MUSIC: We kicked off 2022 with two new Raw Randos tapes (click the Music tab to check em out). I will continue this series for as long as it feels comfortable and non-corny. In addition to new beats I’ve been working on, I will also include older joints from my archives on the Raw Randos series. I have also built this website to be a hub for selling my beats to the people (check the “Beats” tab). I have YEARS worth of beats that I plan to sell, so definitely stay tuned. Furthermore, I plan to upload older projects that I released 10+ years ago through other people’s mediums, that I have since reclaimed & plan to tell the story of how those projects came about. I also have a few projects in the works with Harlem’s own donSMITH, Brooklyn beatmeister, Nothing_Neue & CT emcee, Jaden Castro. More news on those as the year progresses.
MERCH: To be 9000% candid with y’all, I’m not the most creative when it comes to designing merch (hence why I haven’t had many new designs since the top of 2021), but I’m not planning to cease operations on that front at all. With every new beat tape I release, I will have new merch to accompany them. Also looking into some limited cassette & vinyl releases for my music as well as my collab projects! I am not opposed to working with a proper designer to
VIDEOS/STREAMS: Traditionally, I’m not one to show my face on socials or post my creation process, but I’m challenging myself to do so by diving head first into streaming & making video content. I’m starting out by streaming via my Discord channel “CLUB 9000” every Thursday at 9pm EST starting in July. We’re gonna call em #9000Thursday’s (pronounced “nine thou”). And if those streams do well, I’ll try my hand at doing these streams on Twitch. My streams will consist of live beat making, production/engineering advice, random music facts/stories, and holding open forums about mental health, especially for all Black/POC creatives out there. Select live-streams will be edited down, and highlights will be posted on my YouTube page.
I’m really excited to bring all this content to you guys, and I’m very grateful that certain life changes have given me the time & energy to properly market myself and build a proper independent platform. This is the New Era of Wrex Mason! I hope that all of you will enjoy what I have in store for you, and I hope that my efforts will inspire other creatives to do the same for themselves. See you soon!
